FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) has issued a Notice of Intent to Award the operations and maintenance contract for the San Luis Obispo Wildlife Area Public Shooting Range to San Luis Obispo Firearms and Safety Training (SLOFAST), a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to firearm safety education, environmental stewardship, and public access to responsible shooting sports.
SLOFAST was founded to ensure that the San Luis Obispo shooting range operates at the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and transparency. Our organization is focused on providing a safe, well-managed facility for the public, law enforcement, and organized shooting sports under a nonprofit framework that reinvests all proceeds into safety, maintenance, and environmental programs..
We are deeply honored by this opportunity and grateful to CDFW for their confidence in our team. Together, we look forward to ensuring the San Luis Obispo Wildlife Area Shooting Range continues to serve as a model for safe, environmentally responsible, and community-focused recreation.
